It's customary on Purim to give gifts of food to friends, called mishloach manot in Hebrew or shalach manos in Yiddish. For Purim 2013, I had the idea to design my own boxes as a package design exercise, and set some rules. Each box is cut from a single sheet of card stock (using half a ream left over from another project) and folded, using no adhesives of any kind. And the boxes involve no printing; all writing and details are cut into the paper, restricting the box to one process. That first box was a hit, and every year since I've designed a completely new box using the same rules. Many boxes reflect some aspect of the Purim story, the traditions of the holiday, or the political and social atmosphere of the year I created them.
